Yard Waste

Did you know that 60% of what we recycle in Dobbs is yard waste? This is actually not the most efficient or productive way to dispose of the leaves and grass clippings from our yards. Trucking the leaves expends emissions and costs our Village money. It is far healthier for your yard, our planet, and our Village budget if you simply shred the leaves with your mower and leave them in place or use them as mulch in your beds or around your borders. This helps return the nutrients to the soil, saves effort for homeowners, reduces the need for water during dry spells and reduces the need for commercial fertilizers. Never buy mulch again!
